  1. A member of the community has offered up to 600 Pentium 2's and 3's
  2. What would you do with 600 computers?
  3. Mr. Connors has asked a few people the above question, no real answers yet.

 

  • Imacs
  1. If you are interested in working with the Imacs let Mr.Connors know
  2. You will need a plan before you start working with the imacs
  3. Mr. Hagan says they were called "gumdrop" macs
  4. Cam says they have g3's
  5. Once you separate the monitor, there isn't a whole lot there physically, motherboard, hard drive, cd drive, power supply. Not much else.

  2. Everybody grabs two imacs
  3. bring them back, put them in the loft in the other room
  4. Organize them so we can get at them later
  5. What could we do with a mac g3?

  2. Ideally, it should be some people new to the program and some upperclassmen
  3. Go through the pile near the white board and organize it by type
  4. Make the white organizer do its work

  1. Parts of the room are getting real messy
  2. We need to be aware that other people use the room
  3. Picking at piles of stuff and leaving it messier doesn't help
  4. Taking things apart can lead to a bigger mess
  5. Choose the thing you will take apart carefully
  6. If the parts are already out of another device, don't scavenge a fresh device.
  7. Some of the stuff that looks like junk is in fact back up equipment.
  8. If you can help make a change on storage, let Mr. Connors know

  2. Go into the Programs directory, clear out the startup folder
  3. Press Control Alt delete, see what is running
  4. Open any programs that you don't want running and check their preferences
