What can you do to customize and repair your computer without breaking it?

How can you learn more about the ways that computers function and why they work?

How have computers been developed, and what were the limitations that people had to design for?

When you take this class, it is assumed that you might know something about working with computers. If you already know something, you will be expected to build upon that knowledge and grow in the subject.

Main Projects:

Parts Of a Computer

Fixing Broken Computers

Networking Computers

Customizing Computers

Documentation

During this course, you will be creating a record of the ideas you find and the projects you do. This documentation will be hosted on the http://duxtech.ning.com/ site. You will be using blogging techniques to record your successes and challenges on the projects.

This documentation is important as it leaves a record of the work you do and the problems you face and solve. Other students in Duxbury and other schools may refer to the documentation you create.

The documentation is an ongoing process in which you record a bit at a time, and as your project develops, you have a way of looking back to where you were before. You do not have to be 'all done' before your start your documentation, and in fact it is much more interesting if it shows the whole process.
